Northumberland Community Counselling Centre

About Us

Northumberland Community Counselling Centre was initiated in 2007 as a program under the Lead Agency of Northumberland Services for Women.

The impetus for the Centre’s development was as a result of the 2004 strategic planning process of Northumberland Children’s Services Committee in which the need for a Community Counselling Centre was identified as a priority for Northumberland County. In 2007, the Committee was successful in receiving funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, which in combination with local funding by Northumberland United Way and the County of Northumberland enabled the Centre to hire staff and commence service.

Northumberland Community Counselling Centre became a full service charitable organization in April 2009 and is fully incorporated with a voluntary Board of Directors. Northumberland Community Counselling Centre is an associate member of Family Service Ontario.

Northumberland Community Counselling Centre provides or facilitates counselling, information/education, support and/or advocacy programs and services to residents of Northumberland County, to assist and support individuals, couples, families, workplaces and communities to increase their coping capacity and wellbeing when dealing with life issues.
